Biography of the Late Priest Mustapha Nasiru Deen (Malimba) Pa Mustapha Nasiru Deen commonly called Borbor Deen, Malimba or Poor-pay, Pa Deen or The Red Witch was born on the 6th June, 1941 at the Fula Town Community, in Freetown. He grew up with Pa Kennedy one of the oldest Wesleyan Missionaries at Baham Road now Fourah Bay College Road ) where he learnt technical skills and how to repair generators, bicycles and automobiles while he was still attending the Sierra Leone Muslim Association School now called Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood at Berry Street in Freetown. He further attended Sierra Leone Selection Trust Training School in Yengema Town, Kono and subsequently was employed as Machinist at the Sierra Leone Selection Trust which latter became Diamico and latter National Diamond Company in Kono. He worked and lived in Kono for over thirty years where he settled with his family and established. While he was in Kono, he started a prayer group with his family and neighbours with the name of Pentecostal Church which latter became The New Apostolic Church in Father Junction, Yegema Town, in Kono. He was ordained as a full time priest under the New Apostolic Church, Sierra Leone. A man gifted with talents of healing (Traditional Healer). He helped and healed many people with chronic diseases while he was alive. During the war, he was captured on several occasion by the rebels, but because of his skills and talents he survived that rigorous period. He latter came to Freetown and joined his brother Rev. Mike Samura at Goderich in running the Elly’s Guest House and became popular because of his service in the community. He latter decided to settle at Kossoh Town after he lost His younger Brother, the Late Mohamed Amadu Deen of the Sierra Leone Labour Congress. Pa Deen was a social man, down to earth and loved by all. He is survived by 2 wives, 12 children, 27 grandchildren and 8 great grand children. He was 76 years of age, it is against this backdrop that we have established Pa-Deen memorial IT/Mechanical Engineering Consultant, Early Childhood Education Center and Special Needs Education for specifically blind and visually impaired children.
